Potty Training - Day 18

Well, same story today. We got some feel-and-learn pull-ups for our next round. We'll see if they make any difference. I also ordered some nylon pants, so if I get the urge to put her in plain underpants again, at least I can cover them up with something. They should be here the middle of next week.

Tonight before she went to bed, I poured some water in the potty when she was sitting on it. She knew I was doing it, but somehow that didn't make a difference. I said, "Let's see if there's anything in the potty!" When she saw the water in the potty, she got SO EXCITED!!! She started saying "Sticker! Sticker!" I hadn't reminded her about the sticker reward for a long time. Because she was so excited, I treated it as if it had really happened. We went to put a sticker on her chart, and we told her Daddy all about it. Maybe it will generate more excitement.

Because of the lack of success with her, and the early potty training books I am reading, I have continued to put Ellie on the potty. She goes almost every time I put her on there, and most of her poop for the past week has gone into the potty. Just for an experiment, I tried to see if I could keep her dry for a few hours today. I took her to the potty half an hour after she ate and she went. An hour after she ate, I was meaning to take her up but got distracted. She went in her diaper. But if I hadn't been distracted, I could have keep her dry for longer. It's kind of addicting, sort of like a game. I just can't let Katie find out. I really wish I had read these books when Katie was a baby.
