Potty Training - Day 20

This was a significant day. I hope that this marks the point where things begin to fall in place.

Since it was Memorial Day, my husband was home and able to help with Ellie. Katie and I spent the morning outside - without the safety of a pull-up. I gave her as much lemonade and water as she would drink, so that she'd have plenty of times to practice. She had three accidents, but she went in the potty twice!

We came inside at lunchtime and put her pull-up back on. She pooped in that when she went down for her nap.

When I was planning today, and as I've been reading the books, I've realized that it's really my job to try to estimate when she's going to go, and get her to be sitting on the potty at that time. I didn't realize that before. I though she'd just start learning all by herself. I need to work on this.

Later she had a little sprinkle in the potty, but then did the full amount in her pull-up a few minutes after she got up. I will learn from this that I need to explain to her what she is feeling means that she has to go, and that she needs to do it in the potty.

SHE'S GETTING IT!!!

A little side note: today was the day I started using a "special signal" with Ellie. She has continued to go on the potty regularly, half-dozen times a day or so, and always putting the poop in the potty.
